South West owners gather regularly to drive around the region and socialise as part of their car cruises.

Car enthusiasts took advantage of the South West’s beautiful drives last weekend, with the the Veteran Car Club of WA’s Busselton branch hosting a gathering of some of the State’s most beautiful classic cars.

The club’s Brian Webb said the Busselton branch had over 320 members, with many owners favouring British cars, especially the MG (Morris Garage) manufacturer.

“There are 28 MG owners in the club who meet once a month for a coffee or lunch run and sometimes a weekend overnight stop in the South West.”

Cars range from the 1950s to the 2000s.

Most runs are taken through the picturesque countryside of the Margaret River region, and Mr Webb said they often landed at a winery or cafe after a leisurely drive away from the main roads.

“For MG owners its all about the car, its heritage, history and the joy of owning and driving the well known brand,” he said.

The club boasts MGs from the 1950s through to the early 2000s, incorporating classics including the MG TD, TC, MGB, MGA and the later MGF.

” Our range of British-made MGs will be on display at the British Car Day display, Signal Park on Saturday 26 October,” Mr Webb said.
