This Christmas, the spirit of giving shone brightly at Vantage at Vasse Lifestyle Resort as residents and staff came together to support nine local families experiencing hardship.
Continuing its five-year partnership with the Youth Care program, the resort worked closely with chaplains from Vasse Primary School and Cape Naturaliste College to identify families who needed extra support during the holiday season.
Janice Court has coordinated the Youth Care program at Vantage at Vasse for the past two years and spoke about the community’s generous response.
“In the spirit of Christmas, our wonderful homeowners and staff at Vantage at Vasse have generously donated gifts for the children and food items for the families,” she said.
“It’s a lovely example of the Australian tradition of reaching out to others, ensuring everyone has the chance to celebrate and feel the joy of Christmas.”
The resort’s clubhouse became a gathering point for generosity, featuring a Christmas tree decorated with tags representing each family’s wishes. Residents had the special task of choosing a “gift” tag and purchasing meaningful presents for their nominated families.
The community’s kindness was overwhelming for the families receiving support. One family shared their heartfelt appreciation.

“Receiving these gifts reminded us that we’re not alone, which has brought so much happiness to our family. Knowing that people care makes all the difference during the holidays.”
Through this beautiful tradition, Vantage at Vasse and its wonderful volunteers remind us that the most precious gift is the joy of giving itself.
“Christmas is about giving to others, and it’s truly heartwarming to witness our community embracing this value. We are immensely grateful for our partnership with the Youth Care program and the School Chaplains, who grant us the meaningful opportunity to spread joy to families in need.”
