The Margaret River Netball Association’s 14 and Under division has set the stage for an exciting conclusion to the season, with the Vixens and Firebirds emerging as the standout teams in recent preliminary-final matches.

In a gripping semi-final clash on Wednesday, the Vixens secured their spot in the next round with a 28-20 victory over the Magpies.

The Vixens showcased exceptional teamwork and skill, with standout performances from Halle Jack in defence and Sienna Bateman and Stella Male working the circle in the shooting positions.

Despite an early lead for the Magpies, the Vixens were too strong in the end.

Their hard-fought win means they will face the Thunderbirds next week for a chance to compete in the grand final.

The Magpies, despite the loss, had stellar contributions from Samara O’Brien in defence, Minami Arnold in attack, and Annaliese Wylie through the mid-court, who each played pivotal roles throughout the game.

However, the Vixens proved too strong on the day.

In the other semi-final, the Firebirds delivered a commanding performance, defeating the Thunderbirds 51-16.

The Firebirds were dominant from start to finish, with standout players Amika Gobregts in attack, Sadhbh Kennedy in defence, and Holly Vardy in the mid-court and defence leading the charge.

Their win has secured them a direct spot in the grand final, allowing them to watch the upcoming semi-final match with interest.

The Thunderbirds, despite the setback, had notable performances from Elise Voight-Jackman in the centre-court, Sophia Burges in defence, and Macy Breslin in attack, and will now need to regroup and focus on their upcoming challenge against the Vixens.

The semi-final match between the Vixens and the Thunderbirds is scheduled for Wednesday, September 4, at 4:45 PM.

The winners of this match will advance to the grand final to face the Firebirds, who have already secured their place.

The grand final will take place on Wednesday, September 11, at 4:45 PM.

With the stakes high and the talent on display, netball enthusiasts are in for a treat as the season reaches its climax.

Be sure to catch the action and cheer on these young athletes as they battle for the coveted championship title.
