Undalup Rangers bring home Youth Award

The Wadandi Cultural Ranger Program and three of its youngest leaders have been recognised at the recent Youth Affairs Council of WA (YACWA) awards in Perth.
Wadandi Cultural Conservationists Meeka Rees, Joe Adams and Josie Percival collected the Sustainable Future Award for their strong committment to the health, viability and resilience of land and sea country
The trio have led the group since its inception in Pibulman-Wadandi country in the Margaret River region.

“Meeka, Joseph and Josie lead projects that transfer knowledge of Wadandi Country between Wadandi youth and elders, protect sites from invasive species, collaborate with community to look after Country and work towards joint land management with organisations and government,” a YACWA spokesperson said.
“The trio have demonstrated the essence of culturally appropriate youth leadership, with longevity of Country at their core.”
