Margaret River skateboarder Jake Turnbull’s star continues to rise, as he recently collected top honours at the Action Sports Games held in Mandurah on March 15-16.

The event was run alongside the popular Mandurah Crab Festival, with competitors from around the state heading to the coastal town to take part.

Turnbull, who has recently turned 10 years old and attends Margaret River Primary School, collected gold in the under 16 category, competing against seven of the best young skaters from across Western Australia.

He has also recently received funding from the Margaret River Lions Club to continue his ongoing training throughout the year, and said he was “absolutely thrilled” to be supported by his local community.

The Margaret River Lions Club has been a strong supporter of the young athlete since he competed at a national competition level on the east coast two years ago.

He also enjoys sponsorship support from Sportspower Margaret River, Element Skateboards, Step One underwear and Carve Eyewear.
