Broadwater Resort owner Evan Lewis has stepped down from the board of the Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association (MRBTA) after five years of service with the tourism organisation.

Chair Stuart Hicks thanked Mr Lewis for his efforts following the group’s latest Annual General Meeting at Aravina Estate last week.

“On behalf of MRBTA I extend our gratitude for the energy, clarity and rigour he has consistently brought to Board discussions and decisions,” Mr Hicks said.

The Board also inducted four Life Members, appointing Ross Ashton, Clive Johnson and Pip Close for their work in the formation and establishment of the MRBTA following the merger of the Geographe Bay Tourism Association and the Augusta Margaret River Tourism Association.

Pauline McLeod was also awarded Life Membership for her service as General Manager of the AMRTA.

“Their outstanding contributions have left a lasting legacy on the local tourism industry and MRBTA,” Mr Hicks said. “As I said last night, we in today’s MRBTA stand on the shoulders of leaders like these four who have gone before us.”
