Tough contest on tennis court

Anthony Tamborriello and Pablo Pujalte were engaged in a fierce battle at the Margaret River Tennis Club.
Balmy weather and a record crowd were the name of the game for the Margaret River Tennis Club’s Champion Singles event, where Anthony Tamborriello and Pablo Pujalte engaged in a fierce battle before Anthony secured victory in a nail-biting 7-6 6-1 win.
Club President Carl Sanderson thanked their major sponsors as well as the many club supporters who gave their time.
“What a fantastic evening of tennis we were treated to on Monday night!
“A huge thank you to Justin Todd and Tika Baxter for their incredible efforts in organising the Club Championships, and to First National Margaret River for their generous support and sponsorship across all events.”
Mr Sanderson said the clash between the two finalists was “electric”.
“The players put on an incredible show for the record crowd in attendance, making it a night to remember.
“Congratulations to both finalists, and well done to Anthony Tamborriello for clinching the title.
“It was fantastic to see so many supporters courtside, especially our junior players, who no doubt drew inspiration from such a high-quality contest.
A special thanks to our volunteers behind the bar and in the kitchen – Justin, Gemma, Byron, and Dan – as well as Matt Johnston for umpiring the match. Your contributions helped make the evening a great success.”
