Time to nominate your sporting best

Nominations are now open for the City of Busselton’s Annual Sports Awards, and locals are being urged to put forward their nominations to honour local sporting legends.

Individual categories include Sports Person of the Year, Para Athlete of the Year, Coach of the Year, Official of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Club award categories including Club of the Year, Team of the Year, Inclusion Program or Event, Club Governance Award and Event of the Year are also up for grabs.

The Annual Sports Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements and contributions in community sport, and winners will be announced at a special event on October 22.

“The City encourages and supports a healthy, active lifestyle and is extremely proud to again host the sports awards,” Mayor Phill Cronin said.

“We understand the immense value sport brings to the local community and the need to celebrate our clubs and individuals, their passion, dedication and achievements.

“We can learn many personal and community values through sport and how it can enrich our lives and bring community together.”

Nominations close September 27, 2024.
