Players were met with intermittent rain as the Margaret River Tennis Club 24/25 First National Mixed Doubles Club Championships kicked off last week, forcing play to be halted while competitors waited for the weather to clear.

A total of 24 teams took part in the event, with Club President Carl Sanderson praising the efforts of players, and members who leant a hand during the day.

“A huge thank you to our Club Captains, Justin and Tika, for rallying so many members to take part in this fantastic event,” he said.

Alongside the main draw, round robin plate events provided plenty of great entertainment throughout the afternoon.
