Bill Meiklejohn and Stu McMillan prepare for 'Octopuses Without Borders,' a unique collection of works from local artists starting this weekend.

Art enthusiasts and philanthropists alike are invited to experience a unique and imaginative exhibition titled ‘Octopuses Without Borders,’ launching this Sunday, September 15.

The captivating showcase will run until Sunday, September 22, and promises to be a feast for the senses and a beacon of charitable spirit.

‘Octopuses Without Borders’ follows a long succession of obscurely-themed exhibitions held at Willyabrup Dreaming over the years.

Spokesperson and artist Stu McMillan said the showcase would feature an eclectic mix of artworks, including jewellery, sculpture, painting, textiles, and printmaking.

“Each piece reflects the artists’ interpretations of a utopian world, where these enigmatic sea creatures can roam freely, unbound by societal expectations or judgment.”

The exhibition will highlight the talents of a diverse group of artists, including Bill Meiklejohn, Michelle Miller, Steve Pease, Peter Scott, June Bennett, Stu McMillan, Barb Williams, Cherry Delfs, Cooper Smallman, Zayo Hassan, and creative duo, Matt and Nia Almera.

In addition to its artistic allure, ‘Octopuses Without Borders’ is also a philanthropic endeavour, with a portion of the proceeds from artworks sold to be donated to Doctors Without Borders.

The renowned international organisation provides medical aid in crisis areas around the world.

The exhibition will run daily from 10am to 4pm at Willyabrup Dreaming, located at 49 Wilyabrup Road.
