Success for soccer at school
Students from Margaret River Independent School (MRIS) have been hitting the field as part of an exciting collaboration with a local coaching group.
LJ Soccer, led by ex-professional soccer player and coach Luke Johnston, promotes a love for the game as well as encouraging personal growth and development.
The initiative is part of the school’s physical education program aimed at developing motor skills, teamwork, and a love for physical activity from an early age.
MRIS Pre-Primary teacher, Domanie Davies, shared her enthusiasm about the sessions.
“We’re thrilled to have started soccer training,” she said.
“The children have a fantastic time playing games, working as a team, and celebrating kicking goals together!”

The soccer sessions take place every Thursday and will continue for the next few weeks, giving the young players plenty of time to learn, grow, and have fun.
