Dunsborough business Nina’s Jewellery will throw its support behind a national movement to end men’s violence against women and children, and is inviting customers and local residents to join the conversation.

“Gender-based violence impacts 1 in 3 women – that’s one person from each store team,” Krysta Ryan, General Manager of Marketing and Sales said.

“And the first step is talking about the problem.”

Nina’s Jewellery will partner with White Ribbon Australia, the world’s largest movement with a mission to prevent violence against women.

Through their programs and campaigns, White Ribbon engages with men and boys to be part of the solution and become an active part of social change to put a stop to violence against women for good.

“Nina’s Jewellery wants to raise awareness of White Ribbon Australia’s mission and to help keep the conversation going.

“It benefits us all to be aware of an issue that impacts not just ourselves, but our customers, our staff, our partners, our sisters and daughters, every day,” Krysta said. “We will be providing a donation of diamond jewellery to help White Ribbon Australia raise valuable funds for further programs.

“And starting in November – White Ribbon month – all Nina’s staff, locations, website and advertising will bear White Ribbon Australia’s message, in the hopes of encouraging the conversation in others.”

General Manager of Product and Finance, Shivangi Modi said White Ribbon’s mission was close to the hearts of the Nina’s team.

Nina’s Jewellery General Managers Krysta Ryan and Shivangi Modi say White Ribbon Australia’s mission to end violence against women was close to the hearts of the entire Nina’s team. Pictures supplied.

“Our goal is to make beautiful things and to help others make and sell them too,” she said. “It is an intention we feel aligns with so many in the industry – an industry whose main consumer is female.

“So much passion and joy comes from what we do and with that comes tremendous positivity – positivity that can be used to further this vital conversation.”

Ms Ryan said Nina’s Jewellery would host a webinar to “equip our team with the knowledge and tools to foster respect, support employees affected by Family Domestic Violence, and create a more inclusive, compassionate environment”.

She urged locals to join the online event, particularly businesses keen to further knowledge on the subject.

“Working with White Ribbon Australia allows us to lend our platforms and voice to this mission, train our team in being allies to the cause, and better support any who may be experiencing these problems in our own way,” she said. “We welcome everyone, male, female or other, to dial in and join us and help make your workplace a safe place.”
