Sporting wins for primary school kids

Athletes from local schools showed their sporting prowess in the 2025 Leeuwin Interschool Sports Association (LISA) Carnival held last week.
Margaret River Independent School (MRIS), St Thomas More and Karridale and Augusta Primary Schools competed in track and field events over two days. Two records were broken in the Tee-Ball throw with Jordyn McMahon (Year 2) from Augusta throwing 28.48 metres, and Sumi Yo (Year 6) from St Thomas More throwing 30.77 metres.
Spirit of Sport Awards, which reward young participants in team sport for sportsmanship, fair play and mutual respect were awarded to Lokie English and Adeline Harrison from Augusta Primary School, Jake Wensveen-Coventry and Casper Gerde (Karridale Primary School), Dusty Firth and Sage McPherson (Margaret River Independent School and Will Stewart and Sumi Vo (St Thomas More Catholic Primary School).
