Spirits soar as skies open on street parade | Photos
Performers, artists and locals of all ages delivered a celebration of colour and hope in the face of climate anxiety as the first Carnival Parade took over Wallcliffe Road on Saturday.
Dance groups, circus artists and aerialists, choirs, Margi Pride and the Walking with Wheelbarrows contingent of gardens, growers, landcare and environment groups made up the large crowd of people who braved the rain to celebrate just that – the arrival of the winter weather.
