The Margaret River region has long been known as a culinary haven, and it just keeps getting better with the opening of Miss Chow’s at the stunning Edwards Wines Estate.

The renowned contemporary Southeast Asian brand is set to infuse our summer with its signature aromatic, spice-filled, relaxed vibes.

With sweeping vineyard views and a sleek, streamlined, sexy interior that combines modern chic with warming tones of timber – Miss Chow’s Margaret River is anything but a little Miss…

She is bold, bright, and beautiful in food and flavour, with that much-loved personality that has sublimely satisfied foodies across Perth for the past eight years.

What started in 2015 as a soulful dream by Perth restaurateur Jacquie Chan to infuse authentic Southeast Asian flavours into a modern dining experience, Miss Chow’s Perth has grown into a fan favourite, loved for its vibrant dishes, great cocktails, and welcoming, down-to-earth hospitality.

And now that culinary love has spread its wings down south with her latest venture, Miss Chow’s Margaret River, a place Jacquie has long desired to share her passion for food and culture.

“Margaret River has always been on our radar. It’s such a special part of WA – calm, relaxing, and full of life,” Jacquie said.

“Being surrounded by vineyards and amazing produce is incredible! It’s a stunning location with a lively food and wine culture that we’ve always wanted to be a part of and contribute to.

“Collaborating with Edwards Wines makes this project even more meaningful, and we feel it’s the ideal place to bring this concept to life.”

The concept? An informal, fun-focused pan-Asian, local fusion dining experience with a dash of urban buzz set against the scenic rolling vineyards of a Margaret River fine wine estate.

So, how does Miss Chow’s executive chef, Aldren Teo, translate that onto the plate?

“Our menu reflects Southeast Asian flavours inspired by family recipes. We’ve taken classic dishes and added a local twist, focusing on fresh, locally sourced produce such as Manjimup truffle and Amelia Park lamb,” Chef Teo said.

“We want our diners to enjoy a unique modern Asian culinary experience, complemented by great local wines and a beautiful vineyard setting.”

To share or not to share is the big question… but a communal feast is always much more fun!

Starters bring plates of Kingfish ceviche, pretty as a citrus picture, with yuzu and house-pickled chilli, melt-in-your-mouth Wagin duck sang choy bao, and velvety Stirling Range beef tataki dressed with soy, scallion oil, and garlic chips.

Then, wander into a world of heavenly dumplings with the Crispy Assorted Basket, where soft, pillowy morsels meet the perfect crunch – nestled happily in chilli vinaigrette, topped with delicate shavings of bonito, and succulent prawn wontons deliver steaming parcels of joy with bok choy and a dynamite bang bang sauce.

A word to the wise: save room as the larger share plates take it up a notch with juicy Chinese seven-spiced Xinjian lamb cutlets and mint vinaigrette, fleshy grilled Kung Pow king oyster mushrooms topped with dried chilli tendrils and crispy chickpeas, and juicy whole Rottnest cray cradled in fragrantly scented scallion ginger broth with egg noodles.

Their wine list is thoughtfully executed with stellar local offerings and international beauties, such as an Italian Fiano and French Syrah; each sip and bite cements these pairings as a rock-solid marriage.

With beers on tap and out-of-the-box cocktail creations, long summer lunches are definitely on the horizon.

To round off a perfect day, stroll over to the beautifully renovated Edwards Wines Cellar Door, where you can sample their delicious new vintages.
