A South West filmmaker is seeking locals to join the team for his latest movie, as it is brought to life here in our community.
Award-winning filmmaker Josh Yates said he was keen to speak to anyone interested in taking on the role of producer in a volunteer capacity.
“Whether you’re an experienced producer looking to lend your skills to a worthy cause, or someone with organisational chops eager to get hands-on film experience, I would love to hear from you,” Josh said. “We need a producer who can help organise the production schedule and logistics, coordinate between cast, crew and locations, manage a basic budget, and bring a collaborative and enthusiastic spirit to the team.”
The young creative local has been recognised for his films, claiming finals positions over the years in the CinefestOZ Cinesnaps student competition, before taking out the win in 2023 alongside Seth Weadley.
Filming for his latest production is to take place in August in locations close to Margaret River, with the 60 minute coming-of-age story focused on romance, drama and interplay between characters.

“I would love to have a production team who can work together and support each other, so as director and camera operator I can focus on bringing the script to life,” Josh said.
