Asher Bourke's hard work and dedication is showing on and off the track.

Young South West athlete Asher Bourke is celebrating a raft of recent successes, with solid performances across the country.

Competing at Yarra Glen in the School Sport National Championships in August, Asher placed 26th overall in the combined 14/15 age group over 4.8km, and placed 12th in the U14 age group.

This placed him in the Top 5 athletes of the WA 14/15 age group, landing him a place in the 2 kilometre relay team.

This team then placed fourth in the relay event.

A week later, Asher then competed in the Athletics Australia Cross Country Championships in Launceston, Tasmania, representing WA through Athletics West.

The talented runner placed 47th in his age group, over a very challenging course in difficult conditions.

Not limiting his sporting skills to cross country running, Asher then collected Umpire of the Year Award at the Busselton Districts Junior Football Association end of season awards night, on September 10.
