Busselton defeated South Bunbury on Sunday at Sir Stewart Bovell Park in round six of the SWFL season.

Both teams went into the match without key players, Liam Creighton missing for Busselton, and Kevin Chitty sidelined with injury for the Tigers.

The Tigers have been notoriously slow starters in 2025, but got the perfect start against the Magpies, kicking the opening goal courtesy of Bodhi Nordahl. Both teams then went to work, with both backlines coming out on top.

Busselton would kick their opening goal at the nine minute mark via Jackson Arbon via a wayward kick to level the scores.

Busselton would then get their running game going, with goals to Aidan Austen and Brody Delaney, before a late goal to Nordahl closed the gap to four points at quarter time.

Busselton would dominate the second quarter, to lead by 23 points, which ultimately would be the quarter that decided the match.

Both teams kicked three goals each in the third term, with the home side 21 points in front going into the final quarter.

A goal to Blaine Johnson was negated by a snap by Bailey Sanford, as the match tightened up, with goals to Jye Clark and Ethan Nordahl bringing the margin back to twelve points at the thirteen minute mark, with the Tigers having all of the momentum.

A steadying goal to Mitchell Cameron broke the resistance of the Tigers, with Ky Meers putting the icing on the cake as Busselton ran out 22 point winners.
