School shirt project receives a handy boost from Lions

A donation from the Margaret River Lions Club has helped the Margaret River Primary School send $1000 to Nature Conservation through the sale of the t-shirts.
The Margaret River Lions Club has once again demonstrated their unwavering commitment to the local community by funding an initiative that brings together conservation, education, and community spirit.
Their generous donation has enabled the purchase and printing of custom-designed t-shirts, helping students at Margaret River Primary School raise awareness for the threatened snake-necked turtle.
The t-shirts, decorated with designs created by the students, highlight the importance of preserving the unique and vulnerable species that calls the region home.
Proceeds from the sale of these t-shirts will be directed toward several meaningful causes: contributing to the students’ graduation activities, supporting ongoing conservation efforts for the snake-necked turtle, and assisting the Margaret River Primary School’s Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Margaret River Lions for their support and making this project come to life,” MRPS teacher Christie Ker said.
“Their generosity has not only empowered our students to take action for an important conservation issue but also strengthened our school community by funding projects that benefit everyone.”
The initiative reflects the power of collaboration between local organisations and schools to drive positive change.
“Through this project, students have learned firsthand about the importance of conservation while building skills in advocacy and community engagement,” Ms Ker said.
The t-shirts are now available for purchase, and the school is inviting the community to join the cause by supporting the initiative.
“Together, they can protect the precious snake- necked turtle while enriching the lives of students and their families.”
The Lions Club, renowned for its commitment to local causes, expressed pride in being part of the initiative.
