Register to ride in Busselton 'One Dayer'event

The Busselton community and South West motorcycle riders are big supporters of the annual Black Dog Ride events, raising thousands for rural communities.
The Busselton community is being encouraged to get behind the local arm of the Black Dog Ride by registering to ride in the 2025 ‘One Dayer’ event in March.
The ‘One Dayer’ is a one day motorcycle ride to be held in more than 100 communities across Australia on Sunday, March 16, including a ride kicking off in Busselton.
Every year the Black Dog Ride community holds the One Dayer ride, with 5,742 participants and volunteers across the nation joining in last year to raise a total of $435,000.
Organisers are hoping to encourage more community members to get involved in 2025 to support the team to raise funds and awareness of suicide prevention and depression within the hundreds of towns and localities in regional and outback Australia.
“We’ve been helping Aussies have conversations about mental health and suicide prevention for almost 16 years, and we know that every conversation, every ride, and every moment of awareness we create can change lives,” said Busselton Black Dog Ride Coordinator, Dave Bower.
“Through the One Dayer event, we’re inviting locals to join us in breaking down the barriers of silence, encouraging friends, family, and colleagues to seek the support they need to manage mental illness and lead fulfilling lives.
“Together, we’re not only raising funds for vital community projects but also building a culture where reaching out for help is welcomed and supported.”

Since its inception in 2009, Black Dog Ride has raised nearly $4 million, with money raised going directly toward hundreds of organisations including Men’s Shed Association, Royal Flying Doctor, local schools, Mental Health Charities and initiatives that directly support the wider community.
