Record numbers for first Busselton Caravan & Camping Show
A record number of locals and long weekend visitors flocked to Churchill Park over the weekend for the first ever Busselton Caravan & Camping Show.
The Caravan Industry Association Western Australia (CIAWA) said a whopping 11,000 attendees marked the highest visitor turnout for a regional caravan and camping show organised by the association.
“It was inspiring to see first-hand the enthusiasm of multigenerational families and visitors of all ages enjoying the festivities,” CIAWA Chief Executive Officer, Carol McCracken said.
“Thank you to the City of Busselton and local residents for your invaluable support. This past weekend has been incredible, and we look forward to the show returning to beautiful Busselton next September.”
The event showcased an impressive array of caravans, campers, trailers, equipment, and accessories, while attendees also enjoyed the Family Fun Zone, live entertainment from Scott Pearce and Olive Mae, safety demonstrations and interactive displays.
Users were able to speak with onsite experts about the correct set up of camping and outdoor gear, maintenance and more.
It coincided with an influx of visitors to the South West region, arriving from Friday for the King’s Birthday long weekend and Term 3 school holidays.
“We feel so proud and privileged to be a part of this show,” Lindy Tayor from George Day Caravans said.
“The warmth of this beautiful South West community reflects the DNA of George Day Caravans.
“The whole weekend has exceeded all expectations. Thank you to the local community for your support – we are already excited to see you again next year!
Mandalay Holiday Resort’s Rhys Johnson said the business had enjoyed “an amazing time” at the show.
“It was great to see so many people from outside the region who came to visit, as well as the locals.
“We were able to share with them what we have to offer at Mandalay Holiday Resort and hear about how excited they are to travel around WA.”
A range of food and beverage options including craft beers from Shelter Brewing Co was on offer, while visitors also took the chance to enter draws for prizes including holiday vouchers, and Shelter Brewing Co beer packs.
