The Busselton Book Festival returned with an unforgettable weekend of literary events, featuring a stellar lineup of authors and sold-out sessions that captivated audiences.
Highlights included a sold-out dinner with 2024 Book Prize shortlisted author Charlotte Wood, a sold-out breakfast with crime mastermind Chris Hammer, and a fascinating in-conversation session with international bestselling author Marian Keyes in front of a capacity crowd.
Festival-goers were also treated to the launch of Chris Flynn’s new dystopian thriller Orpheus Nine, alongside Jane Caro’s gripping new crime novel Lyrebird.
Markus Zusak celebrated the 20th anniversary of The Book Thief with a packed-out session that had fans eagerly revisiting the beloved classic.
Australia’s #1 TikTok medium, Cael O’Donnell, also took the stage, offering an afternoon of spiritual insight and connection in his event Three Minutes with Spirit.
In addition to the incredible author sessions, the festival featured four sold-out writers’ workshops, spanning topics such as historical fiction, romantasy and world-building, immersive writing, and personal transformation.
Despite going head-to-head with the Federal Election, the Festival of Triathlon, and a weekend of wild weather, the Busselton Book Festival delivered a truly memorable weekend, reaffirming the enduring power of live literary events to connect, inspire, and provoke.
