Post-Olympics honour for Busselton's golden girl

Busselton's golden girl Nina Kennedy will be immortalised on an Australia Post stamp after collecting a gold medal in the women's pole vault at the Paris Olympics.
Busselton’s Olympic golden girl Nina Kennedy has received another special honour with Australia Post announcing the pole vault champion will feature in a new postage stamp.
The Aussie athlete took home the gold medal in a thrilling final last week, facing off against rival and fellow world champion, Katie Moon from the USA.
It was her second appearance for Australia at the Olympics and her first gold medal win.
She was joined at the Stade de France by a large group of friends and family, a welcome change from her world title win in Budapest in 2023 and the 2022 world championships, where she competed without them.

“To come here and just look in the crowd and see 20, 30, 40 of my friends and family and just people that I’ve known over life is just so special, so overwhelming,” she said.
“It was just nice to look into the stadium. It gave me peace, it gave me calm, and it just gave me this energy and this belief that I could do that tonight.”
The limited edition stamps will be sold at Australia Post outlets and online at www.auspost.com.au/shop/collectables/olympics
