Performer ready for Pride

Ex-Busselton local Kane Enable will host two feature events - a Drag Trivia night at the Mermaid Café, and a Drag Show/Comedy night at Hally's Bar.
After huge success with Busselton’s inaugural Pride Wellbeing Week in 2023, the team from Busselton Pride Alliance are back with an even bigger lineup this November.
For the festival’s second iteration, the group announced this week that there will be a huge opening party under the stars at the Busselton Cultural Precinct on Friday November 1.
This will be a free event, thanks to generous sponsorship from City of Busselton, Rio Tinto, Iluka, Busselton Water, Pride WA and the Pride Foundation Australia.
Attendees can expect a fabulous night of drag queens, drag kings, burlesque and dancing the night away to iconic pride party tunes.
Also announced this week was the arrival of headline act Kane Enable, who will fly in from Adelaide to host two feature events – a Drag Trivia night at the Mermaid Café on Friday November 8, and a Drag Show/Comedy night at Hally’s Bar on Saturday November 9.
“Kane Enable is originally from Busselton, but they have spent the last few years touring the country, performing with drag icons such as Jinkx Monsoon, Monet X Change, Sasha Colby and Trixie Mattel, to name a few,” event spokesperson Sharon Custers said.
Kane is now based in Adelaide and is a resident performer at the world-famous Mary’s Poppin bar.
“I can’t wait to bring the glamour, and the excitement of drag to Busselton Pride,” Kane said. “I’ve performed all over the country, but I reckon Busselton is going to be my favourite place I’ll visit this year.
“It’s going to be so heart warming to be able to return home and perform for friends, family, and everyone else who hasn’t had the chance to experience the magic of drag.”
A total of 13 events have been announced for Pride Wellbeing Week, with more to be added in the coming weeks.
With demand expected to be high, people are being encouraged to book early to avoid missing out.
Pride Wellbeing Week will run from November 1 to 10. Visit pridewellbeingfestival.org.au for more information and to make your bookings.
