Where will Pepper poo?

Pepper the Speckle Park heifer will be giving away $2,500 at this year’s Margaret River Agricultural Show, as a fundraiser for the event.

The young female will be given her very own yard at Gloucester Park during the Show, with grass marked out in 324 numbered squares.

The first square Pepper makes a deposit on, will win the ticketholder of the corresponding number a prize of $2,000 with a consolation prize of $500 also up for grabs. That’s one valuable poo.

Pepper’s owner, Rhiannon Stewart, has already started preparing Pepper for the Show on 19 October, with transport and halter training.

“She is a beautiful heifer with a great nature who is going to make at least two people very happy,” Rhiannon said.

Speckle Parks are Australia’s newest breed of beef cattle. Originally from Canada they are renowned for their quiet temperament, milking ability and meat quality.

Ag Show committee member Leanne Ablett said the Show needed support from the community to ensure its future.

“We are encouraging all local businesses and community members to buy tickets and help make this a success,” she said.

Tickets to play are $30 each and will go on sale September 2. Businesses can also purchase a 5 or 10 ticket package to receive promotion through the Show. Contact sponsorship@margaretrivershow.com for details.

The Margaret River Ag Show returns Saturday 19 October, from 10am-9pm.
