Leeuwin Estate will host superstar soprano Rachelle Durkin and talented musicians for Twilight Serenade on January 18.

The Margaret River Wine Association has launched its inaugural Summer of Wine program, aimed at celebrating the region’s vibrant winery events and laidback lifestyle over the summer months.

Margaret River Wine Association CEO, Amanda Whiteland said the first year of the program would see more than 50 winery events running from now until the March long weekend.

“The events across so many wineries this summer creates an unparalleled opportunity for visitors to experience some of the best wines the region has to offer,” Ms Whiteland said.

“With hundreds of diverse experiences on offer, there’s something for everyone-from soaking up the sun with a glass of world-class wine to enjoying creative food, art, and live entertainment by local artisans.

“Whether you’re looking for dog-friendly spaces, family-friendly activities, or just a relaxing escape, Margaret River wineries have it all.”

Events have been scheduled at iconic venues around the region including the Twilight Serenade music event at Leeuwin Estate (January 18), Aravina Estate’s 17 day Summer Festival (until January 12) and live music each Saturday afternoon at Clairault Streicker, while Cape Mentelle will continue their nightly outdoor cinema until February 1.

Howard Park Wines will host their popular Oysters and Riesling event on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 January, pairing crisp Rieslings with fresh Australian oysters, as well as dumplings, gelato and a live DJ.
