New art gallery honours board shaper's legacy
Artist and curator Shayne Hadley has unveiled the first group exhibition at ‘gallery ths’, creating a new and vibrant addition to the local creative landscape.
The gallery, located on Burton Road in Margaret River, was officially opened on Friday with ‘OPEN – side tracks + crossed paths’, an eclectic art show featuring local artists as well as historical works, and works from Denmark-based artist and a Perth artist.
The building was previously used by Tom Hoye to shape surfboards, with the gallery name a tribute to Tom’s legacy.
The building also hosts artists’ studios, offering local creatives the space and opportunity to develop their practices.
‘OPEN – side tracks + crossed paths’ features works by Christopher Young, Elisa Markes-Young, Jane Tangney, John Ogden, Jon Tarry, Melissa Boughey, Paul Witzig, Brian Yates and of course, Shayne Hadley.
