The Margaret River Agricultural Show will return to the showgrounds in October, with organisers sticking with a single-day format tested in 2023.

The Show will take place on Saturday October 19, with an action-packed day of entertainment, exhibition hall competition and family fun capped off with the annual fireworks display.

President Lara Armstrong said the one day format had been well received by the community.

“We have an incredible array of attractions, entertainment and community involvement lined up for the people of Margaret River,” she said.

“Like last year, attendees have the option to enter and leave the Show multiple times during the one-day format.”

The Show offers a glimpse of the region’s rich farming heritage, through agricultural exhibits and demonstrations.

An array of feathered and furry friends, along with shearing and sheep dog demonstrations, a chick hatchery and a special bovine guest are planned, offering hands-on fun for everyone.

Groups are already registering to take up trade space at the Ag Show this year.

Lara said registrations were pouring in from local groups and businesses interested in taking up trade space.

“With an estimated 7500 attendees, the Show is the perfect opportunity for groups to fundraise and businesses to showcase products and services.

“They can reach a large audience with food, market and information stalls.”

Sponsorships are also invited, with the Show acknowledging the ongoing generosity of Retravision Margaret River, which each year gifts showgoers with the Retravision Family Fireworks.

Following the success of the popular and reinvigorated Exhibition Hall in 2023, registrations will open in August for locals of all ages to enter their baking, gardening, craft, quilting, photography and art at the Show.

“It’s time to get creative and start growing to be part of Margaret River’s largest competition.”

The Show’s popular Pet Show competition will also return, offering great prizes for entrants, while there is a chance for local performers to take to the stage.

“We would like to add more local performers to the main stage line-up,” Lara said.

“Singers, dancers and musicians, this is a great way to showcase your talents.

“We are also calling for volunteers to register their interest to help out.

“There are so many ways to get involved; from helping in the exhibition hall, to parking, or on the main stage; we appreciate everyone who joins the Show Team.”

Lara said there was plenty more news to come as details of the Show schedule were finalised.

“We can’t wait to welcome the community back to the Show.

“Mark your calendars for 19 October from 10am to 9pm, and stay tuned for more announcements, entertainment, agricultural exhibits and the ever-popular show rides and sideshow alley.”
