Main Street set to close for Pair'd Festival finale

November 8, 2024 BY

Margaret River Main Street businesses, performers and local groups will take part in a street party celebration later this month, to officially close out the first Pair’d Margaret River Festival.

Held on Sunday November 17, the street party will run from 3pm to 7pm and will feature live music across two stages, while venues including Morries, The Tuckshop, Pearl’s, Rhum Burgundy, Settlers Tavern and Elliott’s Steakhouse will set up on the street to offer special festival menus and bites.

The street will close to traffic from the Tunbridge Street roundabout to the ‘top of town’ roundabout at Wallcliffe Road, allowing pedestrians to wander freely during the event.

“We have so many fabulous local businesses, amazing local produce, and a community spirit that is definitely worth celebrating,” Shire of Augusta Margaret River President Julia Meldrum said.

“After receiving consistent feedback asking for another street party, we decided to collaborate this year with the Pair’d team to deliver a fun-filled community-focused event.

“I’m sure it will provide a pre-summer boost before our busiest time of year.”

Attendees are being encouraged to walk, ride or park nearby, with the party set to kick off at 3pm with a Welcome to Country by Zac Webb and opening address from Ms Meldrum.

The street party will feature two main stages of entertainment – the Reuther Stage at Reuther Park showcasing Margaret River’s own Sash Seabourne Band, Nannup’s Lightnin’ Jack Duo, as well as visiting acts The Whitlams’ Tim Freedman and ARIA Award-winning House DJ, Grant Smillie.

The Skigh Stage in the Fearn Avenue Festival Precinct will host local music acts including Olive Mae, Diego de Camino, Luke Vecchio, and DJ-percussion duo, LaLaLee.

The Margaret River Farmers Market will host a pop-up in the town square, showcasing local produce and artisan products, with local food trucks parked and operating throughout the street.

Families can look forward to a variety of kids’ activities, including face painting, tarp surfing, Freedom Fairies, Salty Sketches interactive art and engaging crafts.

Settlers Tavern will host an outdoor service area and live music from ska Band Little Pedro from 3pm to 7pm, while local businesses including Riversmith, Normal Van, Rio’s, The Spot Italiano, Teddis Big Spoon, de’sendent, Kingston Bakery, Dumpling House Margaret River, Charcuterie Margaret River, Rip Curl, Isla Samsara, Glitterati, Pharmacy 777, YEAH Vintage and Radio Margaret River will also be taking part with special events and promotions.
