Leila secures junior title

There was some fantastic skill and sportsmanship on show over the weekend, as Leila Cordero won the junior tennis tournament held at the Cowaramup Tennis Club courts last Saturday.

Local coach Anthony Tamborriello (Tambo) led players through a series of round robin qualifying games before Beau Weir and Leila Moulton played off for the B final, and Leila and Abby Ralston battled for the A final.

With all players showing some wonderful speed about the court, and great rallying, it was Leila who was just a bit stronger in the clutch points against Abby who ran out the winner.

Cowaramup’s Town and Country Pizza and Pasta sponsored the afternoon so that all participants, coaches and watching parents could finish the day with hot pizza.
