Jetty Swim team calling for new contributors

The Busselton Jetty Swim team is inviting enthusiastic volunteers to join the committee and assist in planning the beloved annual event.

The cherished summer tradition ranks among the most anticipated events on WAs recreation calendar, attracting nearly 6,000 swimmers from across the globe.

Organised by local volunteers under the not-for-profit organisation Busselton Allsports Incorporated, the event aims to inspire individuals of all abilities to participate in a high-quality swimming experience while supporting initiatives that benefit the local community.

A spokesperson said joining the committee would provide local residents with a unique opportunity to collaborate on a variety of crucial aspects related to event coordination, including swimming logistics, merchandise, volunteer management, administration, registration, entertainment, marketing, sponsorship, site infrastructure, and risk management.

They said the committee also frequently collaborates with local community groups throughout the year and on event weekend to ensure a successful event.

Committee meetings take place once or twice a month in person in Busselton, and members are also encouraged to engage in regular organised social activities.

The next committee meeting is scheduled to be held in Busselton on Thursday, April 10th, and all interested individuals are welcome to attend.

Additionally, the committee’s Annual General Meeting will occur in May, where all committee positions will be declared open.

Jetty Swim President Kat Rafferty expressed her pride in working alongside such a dedicated and collaborative team.
