Insightful speakers set for Rotary 'Care Weekend'

Internationally-renowned speaker Cat Levine will lead a full program of presenters at Rotary Margaret River's three day 'Care' weekend, from March 28-30. Image supplied.
Caring about mental health and well-being is one thing.
Caring about the environment is another.
Caring about climate change is a third.
Caring about human rights, a fourth.
Caring about sustainability, a fifth.
Do we care enough how well our children sleep?
And what can non-western societies teach us about care?
Cat Levine has, for over twenty years, developed and used engaging story-telling to speak about mental health and wellbeing to more than 10,000 children as well as many workplaces,
Now, Cat is coming to Margaret River as part of Rotary Margaret River’s three day ‘Care’ weekend [28-30 March].
An internationally renowned speaker, Cat takes complex concepts and makes them simple, engaging, relatable and funny!
She takes caregivers on a journey where they learn techniques and strategies to take care of their mental health, as well as those for whom they care.
Her techniques address anxiety, fear, worry and anger.
She teaches techniques to turn our ‘stinking thinking’ into ‘cool cat’ thinking.
At Rotary Margaret River’s three day ‘Care’ weekend, she will speak about our BIG feelings and how her ‘Think and Be Me’ program provides training and education focused on children and youth.
Lorraine Finlay – the Australian Human Rights Commissioner, will speak on ‘Human Rights – everyone, everywhere every day.’
The Rotary ‘Care’ weekend will also include presentations from the retired chair of the WA Planning Commission, Professor David Caddy, who cares passionately about the future and therefore asks, ‘Is there a way to manage WA’s future growth?’
Caring about climate change invites predicting the weather and what can be done about preparing for it.
This is a subject meteorologist Jess Lingard will explore during her presentation.
Professor Caroline Donovan’s ‘Lights Out Program’ aims to explore how to help little kids sleep.
Rajendra Gautam delivers success stories about grass roots projects from Nepal from which we may learn.
James Suvundra will deliver ‘Elephant Woman and other Adventures.’
And on Sunday, Jade Lewis has an emotional story of ‘Triumph over Adversity’.
Also on Sunday, Narelle Kuppers will demonstrate ‘how to make sustainable products from plastic to create a circular economy.’
All in all, an enthralling weekend of inspiration, information and inventiveness organised by Rotary Margaret River.
The Three-day ‘Care’ conference has been discounted to only $150 per person for local people from the South West.
