The Indian Ocean Longboard Club won the prestigious Lindsay Thompson Memorial Interclub contest last weekend.

Hosted by Cottesloe Longboard Club and held at their home break Isolators at Cottesloe, surfers were treated to a nice morning of glassy waist high waves.

Both clubs were tied until the last heat when Indian Ocean pulled ahead to win 85-83.

Indian Ocean fielded a top team which included Evan Ledger, Barbara Puchika, Bridget Churack, Liam and Steve Raynor, Bill Gibson, Jacob McIvor, Vinny Williams, Amanda Curley, Doug Curruthers and Fin Foley.

Named after legendary club member Lindsay Thompson, who was lost in the Gracetown cliff collapse, and held annually since 2000, Indian Ocean has won the contest a total of 14 times.

The next Indian Ocean Longboard Club round will be held this Saturday at Yallingup commencing at 7am.
