Funeral group seeks funds to establish home

Tender Funerals Australia is a growing network of not-for-profit funeral providers, aiming to deliver a community-driven alternative to traditional funeral offerings in the South West.
A not for profit community based funeral service is seeking financial backers to help establish a permanent home in the South West.
Founded and run by volunteers, Tender Funerals Geographe is raising funds to build or acquire a dedicated facility that will serve as the heart of its operations.
“As a not-for-profit initiative, we believe that funeral services should be affordable and dignified,” Director Charlotte Brown said.
“We are appealing to philanthropists and donors who share our vision of a community-based, transparent, and at-cost funeral service.
“Your support will help us create a lasting legacy for families in the Southwest, ensuring they have access to funeral care that reflects their values and needs, regardless of their financial situation.”
Tender Funerals Australia hopes to offer community-driven alternatives to traditional funeral services, with the network growing across sites in New South Wales and the ACT.
Now the South West branch is looking to construct a purpose-built funeral home, or adapt an existing property, to create a place for families to receive support and care “without financial stress”.
Once operational, the service would be managed by professional staff alongside volunteers with plans to “educate and empower” the community about the range of end-of-life choices available.
The organisation is reaching out to individuals, businesses, and community groups who may be able to help.
“We believe that the right partner could make a significant impact on our ability to serve the community,” Ms Brown said.
“If you are looking for a meaningful way to contribute to the South West, we invite you to join us in making this vision a reality.”
Ms Brown said donations were tax-deductible and would directly support the building of the service’s permanent location.
