Fundraising efforts continue for Busselton CWA

Busselton CWA's famed bake sale at Bunnings was a big hit, raising vital funds to help the group rebuild their ageing Stanley Place HQ.

Busselton’s Country Women’s Association (CWA) branch is calling on the local community to help raise funds to upgrade the group’s ageing building, which is currently boarded up, awaiting structural repairs.

CWA’s Audrey Sully said the group had a vision to transform the site into a community hub, “where many and varied groups can meet as well as our 93-year-old CWA Busselton Branch and the 5-year-old CWA Busselton Belles Branch”.

Last week’s Spring Fair was the latest community fundraising event, aimed at bolstering the project.

“Our Bake Sale held at Bunnings on Saturday August 31 was very successful,” Audrey said.

“We thank our generous community for supporting this endeavour.

“We donated half of the profits to Busselton Hospice, they received $971.40.

“The other half is earmarked for our building upgrade.”

A Busselton Jetty Train Ride and Underwater Observatory Tour is planned for Friday October 18 from 4.45pm, to celebrate 100 Years of CWA in Western Australia and raise further funds for the rebuild.

“We continue to serve our community as we work to upgrade our building,” Audrey said.
