Football fundraiser to support little battler

The Dunsborough Town Football Club will host a special fundraiser to coincide with the Semi Finals of the Pioneer Cup on Thursday June 19, in aid of 7 year old local, Augie.
A local club will host a special event to support one of its own, in a powerful show of community spirit which will coincide with an exciting competitive event.
The Dunsborough Town Football Club (DTFC) will host the Semi Finals of the Pioneer Cup on Thursday June 19, at Dunsborough Playing Fields.
The night will double as a fundraiser for the son of former club member Andre, who is currently facing a life-threatening illness and in urgent need of a transplant.
A picture of health until he was struck down by an unexpected illness, seven year old Augie is the youngest of three children. This week, mum Jacinta and Augie were flown to Sydney where they underwent surgery to transplant a section of Jacinta’s liver to her son.

“It’s going to be a long road ahead but they are both recovering well,” spokesperson Joanna Revilla said. “The family are extremely grateful for everyone’s well wishes and donations.”
The club is encouraging all members of the community to attend and support the cause, with 100 percent of profits from the club canteen on the night going directly to Augie’s recovery fund.
“This is what clubs like DTFC are all about,” Club President Tash Blefari said.
“We support each other in good times and in tough times. By turning this high-profile football night into something even bigger, we hope to make a meaningful impact in the life of a DTFC family member.”
The event is expected to draw strong crowds, with top teams Dunsborough Town FC, Dalyellup Park Rangers, Football Margaret River, and Bunbury Dynamos all competing for a spot in the final.

The club will run a fully-stocked canteen, and is calling on locals to bring the whole family down, enjoy some great food and football, and help raise as much as possible for Augie.
The event will kick off at the Dunsborough Playing Fields on Thursday, 19 June.
Games will start from 6pm and the canteen will be open throughout, with all canteen profits going to Augie’s GoFundMe fundraiser.
