The Yallingup Wellness Expo will bring together a range of wellness professionals next month, for a packed day of activities, presentations and markets at the Caves House Hotel Gardens.

From 9am to 4pm on Sunday October 27, attendees will have the chance to take part in Yoga, Breath Work, Meditation, Pilates, Sacred Dance and more.

Organiser Devi Harpal said the event was about bringing community together, and helping those in need.

Along with co-organiser David McSweeney, Devi said the inspiration came from her volunteer work for Safe Space Busselton.

“[We] realised that there were so many alternative therapies in the southwest, and this has expanded tremendously over the past 3 to 4 years.

“We also became aware of many people who were struggling either physically or emotionally, mental health being one of its main issues.

“Young families who moved here with one parent flying in and out for work and the remaining parent having no family or support nearby, and some without transport.

“Our young teenagers adults struggling with mental health and our usual facilities unable to cope with the demand.”

Devi said there were many wellness providers across the region who were able to provide assistance to those in need, but many members of the public were unaware of the options available.

“The Expo is about showcasing many alternative approaches and therapies that are available.

“We have local movement teachers on the day with various styles of yoga, pilates, sound and breathwork, as well as market stalls and a variety of presenters who will captivate you with their stories, and share their products and services with you.”

Special guests include author Greg Campbell, who will share his insights on maintaining a harmonious balance of all life on Earth, and his experiences with traditional communities in the remote Kimberley region; and Mindful Meditation Australia’s Jean Michel David.

To round out the day, multi-instrumentalist and sound healing musician Julian Silburn will lead a Sound Alchemy session at the Yallingup Hall from 5:30pm.

The event is supported by Busselton and Dunsborough Bendigo Bank and Dunsborough Painting and Decorating.

Entry to the Yallingup Wellness Expo is free, with tickets for individual sessions ($10) or day passes for all sessions ($44) available. All proceeds raised will be directed to local charities including Waratah, 20Talk & Busselton Community Space.
