‘Living Smart’ facilitator Laura Bailey said the seven-session course was a welcoming and inclusive environmental education program for community members aged 16 and over.

The teacher, organic farmer and mum of three has a background in permaculture, renewables, energy assessing and grassroots community activism and has been running the Living Smart courses for many years across the region.
Alex, a 2021 participant in the Living Smart program said the course provided easy to follow steps to sustainable life.
“It’s all too easy to feel powerless and just do nothing.
“Living Smart taught me that even one person can make a difference while having fun, building community, making friends, as well as saving money.”
Course topics include growing your own food, reducing power and water bills, using renewable energy, living with less waste, and making your own chemical-free household cleaners.
The Living Smart program will be held at the Busselton Community Resource Centre. Seven sessions will run on Thursdays (5:30pm to 8:00pm) from May 23 to June 27.
