Dip a toe into water polo with tryout sessions

Busselton Water Polo Association will hold 8 weeks of free Come and Try sessions for locals interested in the sport.

The popularity of water polo continues to rise in the South West, and the Busselton Water Polo Association is holding a series of free ‘Come And Try’ sessions to introduce even more locals to the sport.
“On the back of the outstanding results of our Australian Olympic Water Polo teams in Paris, we are excited and ready to offer our local community the opportunity to come and try water polo,” Liza Dawson, President of Busselton Water Polo Association Inc explained.
“We have 8 week free one hour sessions for new women and juniors to learn the basics skills of water polo whilst standing in the indoor pool at the GLC – offering not only a gentle introduction to the sport, but also the chance to feel good and get fit in time for our summer season.”
The sport has become a hit across the region with a number of South West players heading to the Australian Youth Club Championships and teams growing every season.
Sessions will be run on Wednesdays 6.30pm – 7.45pm (Women) and Sundays 8.45am – 10am (Juniors) for 8 weeks starting the week of August 21-25.
Spaces are limited to 20 per session, offering people the choice to attend a few times or for the whole program. Participants need to wear bathers, bring goggles and swimming cap.
Pool entry will apply.
