Cowaramup local honoured by Men's Shed

In what is believed to be an Australian first, a long-standing female member of the Cowaramup Community Men’s Shed has been awarded a Life Membership at a special morning tea.

Local Colleen Ablett has been a CCMS member since 2015 and has attended virtually every Tuesday and Friday since, making numerous items for sale in the Men’s Shed Shop, including cutting boards and platters, as well as keeping up the supply of bags of kindling available from the Shed.

While Colleen has made an outstanding contribution to the Shed, she said the highlight for her had been the “companionship and camaraderie” she enjoys at the Shed.

CCMS’s Jack Carlsen said Colleen was always a welcome sight at the Shed.

“She makes a delicious morning tea and also provides fresh produce from her garden and orchid to members.”
