A new three year funding agreement between the City of Busselton and the Busselton Senior Citizens Centre Inc will see the City contribute almost $100,000 to the centre.
The City said last week it had renewed its commitment to supporting local seniors, pledging $97,384 per year (excluding GST and indexed annually) to support the centre’s programs and services.
“The Centre plays a vital role in fostering social connection, wellbeing and active ageing,” Mayor Phill Cronin said.
“It’s wonderful to see continued funding support for an organisation that delivers such a wide range of programs and services tailored to our ageing population.
“This agreement provides not only financial stability but also the opportunity for the Centre to plan and deliver services more effectively, ensuring they continue to meet the evolving needs of our seniors.”
The not-for-profit centre offers a range of activities to local seniors such as indoor bowls and bingo, as well as services like podiatry and remedial massage, and social interaction.
