Charges laid over West Busselton weapons stockpile

Items found included pistols and rifles, ammo and replica firearms.

A 30-year-old Busselton man was hit charged with 20 offences last week allegedly relating to drugs and firearms.

Busselton detectives searched a residence in West Busselton on Tuesday June 3, during which they discovered items allegedly belonging to the accused, including homemade pistols and rifles, ammunition, a compound bow, replica firearms, a ballistic vest, cannabis, and various prescription medications.

Police also located and seized firearm manufacturing equipment and plans.

The man was charged with 3 x Possessed Firearm Technology While Not Authorised by a Licence or Permit; 1 x Unlawfully Prescribed a Controlled or Prescription Drug; 3 x Possess Prohibited Drug; 7 x Manufactured a Firearm or Related Thing While Not Authorised by a Licence; 2 x Possessed a Controlled Weapon; 1 x Carried or Possessed a Prohibited Weapon; 2 x Possessed or Acquired Ammunition While Not Being Authorised by a Licence or Permit, and 1 x Manufactured a Prohibited Weapon.
