Celebration of history in Busselton WA-gin release
Busselton’s Beyond Distilling will launch a special gin to celebrate one of the State’s beloved country towns.
Distiller Greg Garnish said ‘Rams Jam’ would pay tribute to the town of Wagin and the legendary giant ram that stands beside the main road, which is affectionately known by locals as ‘Bart’.
“For decades, Bart has stood proudly as a symbol of the town’s agricultural heritage, a beloved icon known for his larger-than-life presence and strength,” Greg said.
“With every sip, you’re not just tasting a gin; you’re savouring the story of Wagin, the legacy of Bart, and the heart of WA’s farming community.”
The gin is made from Wagin-grown barley, Wagin Melaleuca, and other selected botanicals, and is distilled by hand in Busselton.
Rams Jam Gin will be launched at the Wagin Woolarama agricultural festival on March 7 and 8.
To coincide with the launch, a series of short films have been made to promote Bart’s story on social media – www.facebook.com/reel/628059129631766
“Our Wagin ‘Rams Jam’ captures the essence of the local terroir…this is more than just gin-it’s a sip of our heritage.”
Wagin Rams Jam retails for $80 and is available from www.beyondspirits.com.au or selected retailers.
