Harvey Brunswick Leschenault created numerous records on Saturday, after they comprehensively thrashed an undermanned Harvey Bulls at Brunswick Oval by a record 166 points.

The Bulls were without nine players who would regularly play in their league side. The margin was the biggest between the two clubs, the biggest margin at Brunswick Oval and the highest score by Harvey Brunswick Leschenault since June 2006 against South Bunbury.

Bull Harry Gualter kicked the first goal in the opening minute, and at that stage no one knew it would be the Bulls only goal.

After the goal to Gualter, Blake Soulos goaled on the run to level scores, and Zac Piper would then put the Lions in front a minute later.

Brendan Tingey returned to the Lions den and made a massive impact on the match, snapping a goal at the six minute mark. Two minutes later, courtesy of a 50m penalty, Tingey goaled again, as five goals were kicked in the opening eight minutes of the match.

The match settled, and the Bulls started to win some possession, but from the fourteen minute mark to the quarter time siren, the Lions kicked a further seven goals, with Jacoby Parfitt, Kayden Panetta, Hamish Ward and Blake Offer all kicking goals.

The Lions would have eleven goals at quarter time, the most goals kicked in a quarter since electronic statistics were compiled over a decade ago.

The Lions would kick six goals in the second quarter, seven in the third, before the last quarter was played in dull conditions, adding a further three goals.

Late goal gives Hawks the win

Augusta Margaret River defeated Donnybrook at Boyanup Oval in terrible conditions on Sunday.

The two teams were able to manage just seven goals between them, as more than 25mm of rain fell on the oval, in what was a crucial match for both sides.

The Hawks would kick the only goal of the opening term, and would kick the only two goals of the second, as the Dons went through the opening half of the match without a goal.

The Dons came out revitalised in the third quarter with Chris Atthowe, Todd Gregory and Lewis Jetta all kicking goals, as the home side hit the front for the first time, taking a three point lead into the final term.

Scoring was almost impossible with the Hawks kicking a valuable goal midway through the final term, which would be the winning goal, as the Hawks won by three points, kicking their lowest ever winning score, surpassing a victory over Busselton on 22 July 2017, when they kicked 4.10.34.

The Hawks will have the bye in round fifteen, with Donnybrook to face Dunsborough next Sunday.
