Can you show the 'Soupie' some love this Saturday?

Volunteers are needed this Saturday morning for a one-off busy bee at the Margaret River Soup Kitchen.
Every Monday and Wednesday volunteers spend a morning in the kitchen to create pots full of curries for our community, at the beloved ‘Soupie’ which has been running since 1995.
Tens of thousands of meals have been served and people from all walks of life enjoy the food as well as the opportunity for social connection.
“The Soupie meals are prepared in the commercial kitchen and served from the Doctors Surgery cottage, here at the Community Centre,” Centre manager Lydell Huntly said.
“It would mean a lot to our regular, tireless Soupie volunteers to have some help to give the kitchen and pantry a good clean out, and the cottage serving area a spruce up.
“We’re hoping to have a good turn-out of helpers for this one-off busy bee, which will also be a show of appreciation for our weekly volunteers.”
Jobs include painting the noticeboard, cleaning the walls, basic repairs, moving furniture and clearing through equipment and crockery.
Volunteers are asked to bring along gloves and basic cleaning equipment if they can.
Morning tea will be served.
“This is the chance for people to show the Soupie some love and we welcome as many helpers as we can get to make light work of it between 9am and 1pm on Saturday 10th,” Lydell said.
