Busselton Water has launched a new campaign to encourage more of its customers to sign-up for its paperless online e-billing service in an effort to go greener and cleaner.

With almost 14,500 customers and 43,500 bills issued each year, Busselton Water is seeking to cut the number of paper invoices it sends out by promoting the benefits of e-billing not only to customers but to the environment too.

Busselton Water Managing Director Chris Elliott said the corporation was hoping to sign-up as many customers as possible over the course of the campaign.

“When you consider that it takes 10 litres of water to produce just one A4 sheet of paper, you can see how reducing paper usage is ‘a no brainer’ when it comes to saving water and trees,” he said.

“Sending accounts online also has the positive impact of cutting carbon emissions as well as the usage of fossil fuels required to deliver your bills via snail mail.”

Mr Elliott said in addition to the considerable environmental impacts, e-billing delivered significant benefits to Busselton Water customers.

“E-billing is a modern, convenient and fast way to receive and pay your water accounts online. It’s also incredibly simple to use.

“Customers just need to jump onto the Busselton Water website, select ‘Pay my bill’, choose the electronic invoice option and follow the prompts.”

In an effort to entice more customers to go paperless and green, Mr Elliott said the corporation was offering an added incentive as part of the campaign.

“As an added bonus, we’re offering all its customers a one-off $5 rebate when they sign up to our e-billing service. That’s a cup of coffee on us!”

The rebate offer ends in June 2025.
