Undalup Association’s Act Belong Commit Bunuru Festival will return to Riflebutts Reserve in Prevelly on February 24 for a celebration of Indigenous culture and community on Wadandi Boodja.

Now in its fourth year, the festival offers a chance for members of the community to come together for a family-friendly, smoke and vape free day out.

Entertainment, activities, workshops, food and market stalls will be on site from 12pm to 5pm on Saturday February 24.

This year’s program includes workshops and arts activities for the whole family, including basket-weaving, paint by numbers and hip-hop workshops, group colouring-in, keychain-making and kite workshops.

Talented musicians including Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse, Phil Walleystack, The Nomadics, MissGenius and Coen Fowler will hit the main stage, while a range of stalls and food trucks will also be on site.

Undalup Association Chair Zac Webb said the festival was an opportunity for the wider community to come together to celebrate Bunuru – the second summer.

“It’s about bringing community together, on country, to celebrate country,” he said.

“I’m looking forward to seeing everyone out there, friends and families connecting and enjoying the music, crafts and things to do.”

“And I’m really looking forward to the day itself, where our family can celebrate culture alongside the wider community that live and work on Saltwater Country.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket and water vessel, and settle in for the day.

The festival is supported by Healthway, Lotterywest, Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association, Shire of Augusta Margaret River and AHOY Management.
