Pure focus: 15 year old Brooklyn Rayne trains 6 to 8 times a week and has been recognised for her commitment and work in and out of the pool.

Busselton swimming talent Brooklyn Rayne has been named the Busselton Freight Services Rising Sports Star, in recognition of her exceptional performance and commitment to competitive swimming.

Aged 15 and a member of the Busselton Swimming Club, Brooklyn trains 6 to 8 times a week under coach Andrew Sexton, and has been swimming since the age of seven.

Her determination and performance over the past year have been nothing short of exceptional, culminating in her qualification for the 2025 Australian Age National Championships, where she competed in four events: the 50m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke, and 50m Butterfly.

At the Nationals, Brooklyn made the B Final in the 100m Freestyle, finishing 14th in Australia and achieving personal bests in both the 100m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke – a testament to her continued improvement at an elite level.

Brooklyn’s success has been recognised beyond the pool.

She has been selected for the 2025/26 Swimming WA Skills Development Squad, and was chosen to represent WA at the Tri-Series in New Zealand, taking place in October 2024.

She was a finalist and silver medallist at the Swimming WA Hancock Prospecting LC Championships for the 50m and 100m Freestyle and is currently ranked 4th in WA for the 50m Freestyle and 3rd for the 100m Freestyle.

In open water swimming, Brooklyn placed 22nd overall in the female category of the 2025 Busselton Jetty Swim, and earlier this year took first place in the 5km Swimming WA Open Water Community Swim. She also claimed the title of Year 10 Girls Swimming Champion at St Mary MacKillop Catholic College.

Adding to her growing list of accomplishments, Brooklyn was selected for the South West Academy of Sport Swimming Program, where she is supported in further developing her athletic potential in and out of the pool.

Brooklyn shares her passion for swimming with her twin sister Madison, and together they have represented their club and state with pride.

With aspirations to compete in the Olympics, Brooklyn’s journey is just beginning – and the Busselton community will no doubt be cheering her on every stroke of the way.
