Beautiful birdbath collaboration

A project between local students and a talented South West artist has resulted in a stunning new addition to the Margaret River Independent School (MRIS) grounds.
Year 3 students worked closely with parent and artist, Jo Alferink recently, with each creating a mosaic tile based on the six Wadandi seasons. Jo then used the tiles to create a one-of-a-kind birdbath, which is now positioned underneath the loquat tree outside of the Year 3 classroom.
MRIS parents are frequently included in projects and special events, while the school’s annual art auction is supported by a large group of South West creatives.
Year 3 teacher, Ashley Burke said the project “linked in beautifully with class tour guiding program where the children work closely with the six seasons knowledge”.
