Local artists have been getting a little ‘WILD’ for an upcoming fundraiser event aimed at supporting the arts community and not for profit group, Woven Cowaramup.
The community exhibition, to be held at the Cowaramup Town Hall on Saturday April 5, includes artworks from professional and novice artists as well as local school children who have been inspired by the ‘WILD’ theme.
The volunteer run group aims to bring together women in the local community to nurture and support each other, with a focus on mental health, helping women prioritise time for creativity, connection, culture and wellbeing by offering affordable monthly workshops.

The fourth Woven exhibition sees artists donate their works, which are created on standard MDF blocks around the size of a postcard.
The choice of medium and how they transform the blocks is entirely up to the creatives.
Woven Chairperson Shelley Genis said with such an array of artworks for sale, it was set to be another incredible night for the team.
“We are absolutely thrilled by the level of artworks that has been donated this year, with lots of unique interpretations of the theme ‘wild’,” she said.
“Once again we feel completely supported by our community, we are blown away not only by the artists but also by the local business’ who have generously supported us by donating materials, drinks and raffle prizes for the night.”
The event is one of Woven’s bigger fundraiser nights, which the group plans to host every second year.
Proceeds from the sale of Cowaramup Primary School students’ artworks will be handed back to the school for creative projects, while all other funds raised on the night will go towards contributing to the operational costs of Woven and to creating their own hub.
Doors open from 5pm on Saturday April 5, with sales kicking off from 7pm (kids artwork for sale 5- 6:30pm).
